BIOGRAPHY
French photographer born in Nice, Olivier Remualdo travels to India since 2004. In 2009, he began the project Sadhus: a gallery of Hindu wandering monks, a gallery of more than 110 portraits was shot. The specificity of its approach is to put out of glance the picturesque representation usually made of these men and women.
He photographs on the place of their meeting, with a handmade photo studio background. By this process, the photographer gives the viewer the opportunity to center the attention on the individual, apart from established visual codes.
His work was recently shown at the Espace Pierre Cardin in Paris. He was awarded the "Lucien Clergue" Prize in 2011 and was the "Grand Prize Winner" of the "Best Blurb Books Contest" in 2009 in San Francisco.
In May 2013, the subscription of his book "Sadhus" begins (scheduled for release fall 2013). This is his second publication after "Vive (la) Republique!", a book published by the City of Cannes.
